Mold inspection and testing in a Mankato, MN home basement

Our goal is to help our customers in three easy steps.

We will provide our customers a certified mold inspector to come in the home and fully inspect the home from top to bottom to identify the problem.

Whether you are looking at purchasing a home or selling one, it is important to know if the home has microbial mold growth or moisture intrusion that could cause microbial mold growth. One may ask, “Well how do I know if there is moisture or microbial growth in the home?” This is where our company comes in to help you identify those areas and help you check off another worry or issue off the list!

Our company is fully certified and educated through InterNACHI, (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors). We have the training and knowledge to understand and identify the source of moisture entry and microbial mold growth in the home.

If our inspector indicates that they can either smell/sees the microbial growth or inspects signs of possible issues that could develop into microbial growth we can provide 2 ways to test.

1. We can provide an air sample- This would include 2 samples, one of the outside air to compare to and one in the home where the inspector or customer believed the microbial growth may be present. They will provide additional test if it calls for it. One test will cover 1,000sq ft of the home. So depending on the size of the home, it may require additional test.

2. Swap test of the microbial mold growth if it is present and can be seen. Once these test are conducted, the test will be sent to our certified lab. The certified lab will be able to indicate the type of microbial growth and the levels. You will have access to this lab to answer any and all questions you may have.

Microbial growth in the home can have negative affects on your health and is one you don’t want to ignore. This will protect you and your families health along with providing a longer lifespan on the components in your home.

If you have concerns of moisture or microbial growth in your current home or in the one your looking at purchasing, let us help you cross one more worry off your list!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my Mankato home has mold?

Common signs include musty odors, visible discoloration on walls or ceilings, water stains, peeling paint, and allergy-like symptoms. Southern Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles and humidity changes create conditions where mold can thrive undetected behind walls and in basements.

What does a mold inspection include?

Our Mankato mold inspection includes a visual assessment of all accessible areas, moisture readings with professional-grade meters, identification of water intrusion sources, and recommendations for remediation if mold is found. We check basements, crawlspaces, attics, bathrooms, and areas around windows.

Is mold common in Blue Earth County homes?

Yes. The humid summers and cold winters in Blue Earth County create temperature differentials that cause condensation. Combined with older home construction methods, basements with moisture intrusion, and ice dam damage, mold is a frequent concern in Mankato area homes.

Can mold affect my home's value?

Untreated mold can significantly impact your home's value and marketability in Mankato. It can cause structural wood rot, health concerns, and failed real estate transactions. Early detection through professional mold inspection saves money and protects your investment.
